Some rooms have progressed. Others have regressed. None are fully matured. I liken it to the times when in one minute my 7th grade student is flexing his muscles for some girl and the next minute he has a highlighter up his nose.
This is reality, folks.
Enjoy the tour.

So far, we've ripped out the carpet (ewwww) and old subfloor, put down new subflooring, and closed the fridge.
Main Staircase
We've removed the garland left here by the previous owners. Go us!
Master Bathroom
We have done a few things in here, but haven't painted yet. Jordan, Trey, and Grace are still rub-a-dub dubbing in our tub. It is a bit crowded, but what can you do?
Back Staircase/Master Closet
Walls: Benjamin Moore Paper White
See what I mean? Parts of our house are ready to start thinking about flirting. Others are still playing with Power Rangers. There are more rooms and closets, but the truth is that all of the remaining ones have regressed and/or gone unchanged, and I'm getting exhausted just thinking about all I have to go clean...
Oh my goodness, please put a big x through Jordan, Trey and Grace then write your names above. That would be hilarious. I can't believe I haven't scrolled through all these pictures...
ReplyDeletehahaha Gloria that would be awesome...we might have to do that right before we finally paint. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are seriously hilarious. And if you need help painting I'll come! That bathroom needs a fresh coat PRONTO! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Katie...maybe we should road trip to your house and have a painting weekend. That would be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am OBSESSED with your half bath. Seriously in love. :)
OK - That finial on your grand staircase makes the entire house so worth it!
ReplyDeleteYour Master Bath is seriously causing me to LOL -- out loud! rub-a-dub-dub!

ReplyDeleteQuick! Where's my "original comment" stamp?
ReplyDelete"Love this post!"
Your home has some gorgeous bone structure. ;) Wow. Love that your ceiling is blue in the master bedroom. And any girl who loves chandeliers is a friend of mine. I'm smitten over your dark wood floors! Oh my!
Then that 1/2 bath! Amazing. Love your decorating style everywhere....especially the closed refrigerator part. ;) You're a nut.
Ha I have been looking at design blogs for the past couple hours and yours was the first that made me laugh! I literally laughed-out-loud when I read the part about the bath being crowded! You guys have done AWESOME work on your house. Congrats! It's beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled upon your blog today. Here are my thoughts:
ReplyDeleteA- Love it. You're funny and witty and I love home renovation stuff. I will be back.
B- Holy hell did these previous owners have quite the obsession with bad wall decals and houses for feathered creatures?!
I just found your blog as well, and can I just say O M G. Your before pictures...I don't even know what to say about them! I'm so glad y'all found this house and can give it some love! I will definitely keep checking back for progress :-)
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog from Decor And The Dog. You are a wonderful writer, with a great sense of humor. Definitely adding you to the list of blogs I follow. Keep up the good work!

Psst... where is your couch from? So pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's from Raymour & Flanigan!
DeleteI somehow stumbled upon your blog this evening and I'm your newest fan. Love your style, and your humor. And you are cat people, so that's cool in my book. We have four cats of our own, and one is insisting on sitting on my chest right now while I balance my laptop and try to type.
ReplyDeleteThat house of yours was ghastly before! Oh my ... all those wall murals and such. Scary stuff. I'm off to do some more exploring, so expect more comments from me shortly!
Hi Erin! I stumbled across your blog a few months ago, and found myself in the downward spiral of "Older posts" to read more - it's just so much fun to read about all your projects, because they're lovely and you're hilarious :) Today I re-visited this page and realized that I NEED (ok, want, but want REALLY REALLY BAD which is kinda the same thing as NEED) the shower curtain in your master bath! Could you let us know where/when you got it? Thanks!!
